Great support starts with getting the fundamentals right. Skills Centre Australia’s Introduction to Support Work course equips new and existing support workers with the essential knowledge, practical tools and professional standards needed to work confidently, safely and in line with industry expectations.
The course covers critical areas every support worker should understand, including accurate shift and progress notes, incident identification and reporting, recognising and escalating changes in a client’s condition, professional boundaries, duty of care, communication and effective time management.
With a strong focus on real-world situations, participants learn not just what is expected of them, but why it matters and how to apply it in their everyday role.
For NDIS and Aged Care providers, our Introduction to Support Work training provides a valuable foundation for onboarding new employees, reinforcing workplace expectations and helping build a workforce that is professional, accountable, confident and compliance-focused from the outset.
Combined with our clinical, High Intensity Support and specialised care training, Skills Centre Australia can support your staff throughout their professional development — from learning the fundamentals of support work through to developing the skills required to confidently support people with complex care needs.
Our expert instructors like to provide an individualised training experience, so class sizes are limited to a maximum of ten students. Smaller class sizes allow us to provide more personalised instruction and feedback to achieve the best learning outcomes.
Skills Centre Australia is passionate about delivering high-quality training that focuses on both the theoretical and practical aspects of care. Our training centre is equipped with a range of apparatus to help you develop your skills and apply what you’ve learned, so you can confidently deliver high-intensity supports.
All our courses are updated and validated every three months to ensure they reflect the latest government and ASQA (Australian Skills Quality Authority) guidelines.
