Course Introduction
The Personal Care Training Course provides essential, hands-on skills for aged care, disability, and home care workers who support clients with daily personal care needs. This course is designed to provide participants with more in-depth, practical training than the personal care component typically covered in the Certificate III in Individual Support, ensuring care workers feel confident in delivering safe, respectful, and person-centred care.
Participants will learn the fundamentals of providing personal care in home and community settings, including safe techniques for client showering, bed bathing, toileting assistance, and continence care. The training also focuses on manual handling, maintaining skin integrity, and proper hand hygiene to ensure the safety and well-being of both clients and support workers.
The course also covers policies and procedures, risk identification, documentation, incident reporting, and understanding care plans, helping participants deliver care in line with the expectations of the aged care and disability sectors.
By completing this course, participants will gain the practical skills and confidence to provide high-quality personal care, supporting client dignity, comfort, and safety in everyday support environments.
