Course Introduction

The CPAP and BiPAP Training Course provides essential knowledge and practical skills for aged care, disability, and home care workers supporting clients who require non-invasive respiratory support. This course is designed to help care providers safely assist individuals using CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) and BiPAP (Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure) equipment in home and community care settings.

Participants will develop a basic understanding of the respiratory system, learn the key differences between CPAP and BiPAP therapy, and understand the clinical requirements for supporting clients using these devices. The course also covers identifying CPAP and BiPAP equipment, understanding prescribed pressure settings, and the safe management of respiratory support devices.

A practical component allows participants to build confidence in assisting clients to correctly fit masks, check device settings, and support safe use of CPAP and BiPAP equipment.

By completing this course, care workers will gain the knowledge and practical skills needed to support clients with respiratory conditions safely, confidently, and in accordance with prescribed care plans.
